Using Technology to Open the College: The "New Pathways" Program

Abstract

Universities of the future will be defined by their electronic networks of access instead of by their campus boundaries. New technologies will provide broader access and a wider range of academic experiences. This article describes .two projects of Annenbergl Corporation for Public Broadcasting's "New Pathways to a Degree" Program as examples of ways in which metropolitan institutions can make effective use of the new capabilities.
