AbstractShould metropolitan universities compete for technical assistance grants? What kind of commitment is involved? Can the ethnic population of a metropolitan community be an asset in work abroad? How can a metropolitan university develop a productive partnership with an eastern European university? Should a traditional, researchoriented eastern European university embrace some of the defining criteria of a metropolitan university? These are some of the questions addressed in this article analyzing Central Connecticut State University's and The Technical University of Wroclaw' s paths to partnership in the field of technical assistance through training in management and market economics education.
