Public Education, Public Policy, and Metropolitan Universities

Abstract

The author describes the savage inequalities existing in public education in contemporatry America. He calls for greater involvement of metropolitan universities in providing a more inclusive preparation for teachers, and helping to redefine their role as children's advocates.
