Abstract

Health professions schools can contribute significantly to the mission of metropolitan universities and have a substantial impact on their communities. In addition to the direct impact of their graduates and the economic impact of the schools and their affiliate health care facilities, they can make a major contribution to serving the health care needs of the community. The article illustrates this with examples of activities at the College of Allied Health &iences and Physical Education at Towson State University.
