Building Intercultural Bridges

AbstractThis article outlines relevant theory on service learning and discusses two models of intercultural work with service learning components. Two case studies are examined: Hartwick College first year seminar and upper level course in Chiapas, Mexico, and the Hartwick College Junior Jamaica Nursing Program. Ethical, intellectual, interpersonal, logistical, institutional, and safety issues are addressed.
