Globalizing Engineers through International Co-op

Abstract

Today, educational institutions seek ways to increase global awareness among students and provide them with opportunities for realworld application of what they learn in the classroom. At the University of Cincinnati, our International Co-Op Program attempts to do both of these things, by providing students with work opportunities in Germany, Japan and Latin America, as an integral part of their undergraduate program. This article describes how this program was developed for our engineering students.
