Productive Tensions and Uncomfortable Conversations

Matthew Durington is cultural anthropologist specializing in urban, visual and multimodal anthropology. As a community engagement professional, he holds a number of credentials through Campus Compact. He is the co-author of Networked Anthropology (Routledge, 2014) and Multimodal Methods in Anthropology (Routledge, 2024).

Jennifer L. Britton is Drexel University's Executive Director for Sustainable Development Strategy, in the division of Accounts Payable and Procurement Services. Her work in anchor institution mission and strategy includes "Community Autonomy and Place-Based Environmental Research: Recognizing and Reducing Risks" in Metropolitan Universities. As a human-animal studies scholar she additionally focuses on wild horse and burro politics and governance in North America. 

Katherine Feely, SND, Ed.D. serves as the Director of the Center for Service-Learning and Social Action at John Carroll University.  She holds a doctorate in higher education from the University of Pennsylvania, a masters in Theology from Boston College combining joint studies in social ethics and economics, and a B.S. in Accounting and Economics from Villanova University.
