Tradition and Transition: Emerging Continuing Education Leadership
AbstractThe long-standing continuing education issues of mainstream and marginality are no longer germane. The mission of continuing education closely approximates the mission of a metropolitan university. Continuing education is, therefore, functionally poised to participate in the agenda of the university. The article shows how, by realigning its structural organization, continuing education will be well positioned to assume a primary role in helping the university fulfill its metropolitan mission.
